He got better and brought it back to 3-5 30-30*, but Foe won the last 2 points to take the set. 3-6.
The set point was great from both players.
Yes, I saw that point , as you say, truly great. I went to sleep after that knowing Dan had started to play his good tennis and that his recent history of turning marches round after losing first set gave much hope.
Well done those who stayed awake to watch - wish I could have.

My mind has jumped ahead of me now, and Dan hasn't proved his stamina yet BUT he's taken out the No 1 seed, and if he wins the whole thing it'll take him back into the top 100. He's 56 in the live race now which is probably a better reflection of his form than his ranking.

I am probably being overly fussy here, but Tiafoe was actually the Nş3 seed. He was, of course, the defending champion, but he was topped in the seedings by Delpo (1) and Isner (2). As for rankings, Dan is now 139 in the live rankings and a win over Lloyd Harris would see him jump another 10 places (approx - depending on other's results).
But regardless of Tiafoe's seeding, it is still a superb win and my mind too is jumping forward to see where he might get in the rankings this week.
Yes, the highlights are superb, but I can't help wondering that those legs may not have had enough time to recover before his next match less than 24 hours away. he'll certainly need to try to keep the points short, but that isn't really his style.
