I know the +H will give it a few more points (and money) and there's a lot of events in that part of the world around then, plus there will be one or two withdrawals, but that's a ridiculously strong looking 25k event in Mexico. The top 13 all have it as their 'Priority 1', so the vast majority of those will intend to play it. Von Deichmann was a seed in Shrewsbury 60k, but is just 13th on there. Katie S is 7th alt, so I can't see her getting in directly.

Katie is Q7, not A7, so at least she has a place if she wants it. I see Gauff is using one of her JE's there.

Interesting to see Gabi opt to stay in Japan rather than return to Australia and Mildura where she won a 25k title last year. The Yokohama field is much stronger than the Mildura field so far... I know withdrawals will happen, but I imagine the Yokohama field will still stay the stronger one.

Yeah, that's what I meant. Just seems crazy when it looks like Bolkvadze will get into a European (Glasgow) 25k event directly ranked 310, whereas someone ranked 174 seems to have little chance and those in the 160's are far from guaranteed too. I know there is an adjacent European 25k event in Germany next week and there have been a few 'Priority 1' withdrawals, but it's still surprising.

She pulled out of Glasgow a couple of weeks ago (before she fell ill) where she now would have been 2nd seed. I thought that she might have thought she was above that level, since she was already home for Fed Cup and was planning to be in Shrewsbury, it seemed strange to withdraw, especially as it turns out her next event is at pretty much the same level, but ironically, she'll likely face a tough match just to get in.

Her next event might be Acapulco if there are a few withdrawals.

Katie Swan is now in the Mexico main draw, as is Emily App via the ITF ranking. Jodie seems to have been (possibly automatically) withdrawn from Mildura, where I think she is in the quals. She's still down for Japan 25k, but is 9 off quals as it stands.

Jodie is not shown as an AW from Japan. And I believe if she had still been down for both Japan and Mildura the automatic withdrawal would have been from Japan since she had made Mildura qualifying ( indeed close to the MD ).

Looks like a voluntary withdrawal to me wink

Japan still needs to be updated with final withdrawals. There are 5 women above Jodie that are committed elsewhere and need to be removed.

Jamie, Joe and Dom are into the mens doubles at Indian Wells. Notice also that Djokovic w/Fognini and Delpo (w/gonzalez) are playing; Thiem also with Steve Johnson and Raonic with Chardy, and Khachanov w/Medvedev. Isner and Querrey and Tsitsipas with Koolhof are also playing. I count 10 players in on singles rankings out of the 21 pairs, 1/4 of the entry.

Kyle and Neal Skupski are 3rd alternates as well, and Zverev and Monfils and a few others with singles class are also in the alts list. Not sure if any of them will get in though, doubles doesnt seem to have the same drop out levels as singles?

Yeah but sometimes the on site ends up higher than the advance entry. Especially with good money on offer the singles players just enter for the sake of a few more $. Looking at last years its $15000 for a pair for 1st round loss.

Lets hope the Skupskis get in.

Neal is playing with Kyle it seems, Ken ranked too low.
