Great stuff.

Hope she can top the week off with a title.

On the rankings, very helpfully the ITF have changed their format so the date of the CH is no longer indicated. Why provide as useful a service as in the past, when you can make it worse? Seems to be their all round motto at the moment.

The WTA still gives the date of the CH. Imanishi's CH of 187 was reached on 28/5/18

I see Jodie is 1st alt for qualifying for a France 25k next week - she'll surely get in because there are 7 French girls in Qs and and you'd think at least 1 of those would get a MDWC. There are 2 SE's reserved for the event so surely Jodie would be in line for one of those if she wanted to play as I think India was the only 25k this week. Mind, if she wins tomorrow and gets wind of a MDWC for Shrewsbury, she may well just want the week off and maybe even get herself to Bath to watch the tennis or something.

Amazing result considering how recently she was in a boot for her injured foot. Well done JB!

Jodie lost the opener, but is up in the second.

She won the second set but lost the decider. She saved match point(s?) and broke to stay in but then was sadly broken to 15 herself.

A first 25k final for Jodie, but for the win she'll have to wait a little longer. A wonderful week for her all in all. It will be interesting to see whether she plays Grenoble next week, or waits for - and receives - some form of WC for Shrewsbury.

F: Jodie BURRAGE (GBR) 415 lost to Miharu IMANISHI (JPN) [7] 404 (CH:187 May 18) 3-6 6-3 3-6

Great week for Jodie. Can't help but feel it was a great opportunity missed for an extra 20 points, but I guess Imanishi would have been thinking the same had she lost. She has ended her little run of defeats against Brits in 2019.

I saw that Imanishi had something like 70odd % BP conversion and Jodie's was in the 30s and thought that was the difference, but looking on Sofascore, a lot of the Japanese breaks were to love or 15, so not just a case of winning the bigger points.

Still, pretty much everyone on here would have taken a F here at the start of the week, so definitely going in the right direction.
