Sorry everyone. My fault. Had to nip out. Back now, so Evo will come out on top.

Not too much Dan could have done, but again, in a good position to no avail. Went from 40-15* to Halys holding.

Dan serving to stay in it *4-5

Again, Halys recovers from 40-15*. He's playing the big points well - first time I've seen him.

*5-6. Tie break at best for Dan.

I hate the way the stats come up before the handshake, ha. Great win!

Some really good quality tennis in there as well as the win. Well played Dan.

Dan squeaks thru, 7-6 in the third.  Overall, a decent standard, though QH hit 10 DFs.

Well, that was so nice and stress-free - not !

But well done, Dan. A real tricky encounter - Halys shot himself in the foot a couple of times but made it tough.

Won't have done Dan's blisters any good though.....

Cutting it a bit fine there you were Bob, but luckily 'Eevans' made it past the post.  The chap who was knocked out first round of qualifying in AO gave us all a bit of a scare though.

Yes, that IS very annoying  - I always find the  handshake 'interesting'.

With the last DF giving Dan 4 MPs, though Halys then saved 2. Dan only served 2 DFs and later in the match kept his 2nd serve more in play too. When he's playing well he's a clever tennis player... no wonder Federer saw a likeness wink

Dan has just put out the existing title holder here, to remind... smile

For me, the big point towards the end was when Dan was serving at *5-6 15-30, and with Halys charging the net, Dan played a gorgeous dipping slice into his feet that he couldn't cope with and he dumped the low volley into the net.

Good win for Dan. Onwards and upwards!

I only dipped in and out watching but was there a bit of needle between them?
