With 18 points to come off before the end of May will be interesting to see where Dan can get to in the rankings by the end of May. Id hope to think hed be pushing top 100.
Evo would need to add 240 points between now and May to take him to around the WR100 mark. Not impossible by any means but not easy either. I understand Dan is planning to play some ATP qualies next month - a good run in one of those events would help, otherwise youre essentially looking at Evo winning a few challengers over the next 3 months (again, not beyond the realms of possibility but tricky to consistently perform at any level).
Certainly a terrific opportunity for Dan to consolidate himself a lot higher up in the rankings before he has to start worrying about defending points etc.
I think Dan said recently his target was to get into Wimbledon directly this year, so that would equate to top 100 In that timescale, he's obviously got that as a target in mind.
Dan is entered into qualies for next week's tournament in Montpellier, but he'll only make it in time if he loses early here. Montpellier is 1k km away and the only fast and comfortable option is private jet. So he'd need to lose against QH on Wednesday, travel on Thurs, recover Fri and play Sat.
According to the lists on MTF, Dan has not entered / made the cut qualies in Rotterdam or NY. He has just sqeaked in to qualies at Delray Beach in week 9 (Feb 18th). In week 10, there is the $125+H challenger at Indian Wells which would be a great warm up for Indian Wells proper the next week. Plenty of points and prizes on offer!
I think you might exaggerate a little, stevemcqueen.
You can get a regular flight from Brest down there, via Orly, which will only take about 3 hours including connection - it's just two little hops and they run all the time.
It's also a reasonably easy train journey from Quimper to Montpellier, although a fair bit longer - only one change, I think, and French trains are nice.
Or it's even not too bad as a drive - I would expect there to be some car shares going there.
In the scheme of players' travel, it's not arduous and I certainly don't think you need a day's recovery.
Also I imagine qualifying wont start until Sunday as its Davis Cup this week?

I was hoping to get up there for Sun/Mon/Tues and possibly Weds but sadly it is looking less likely by the hour as work commitments pile up. Dan isn't the only Brit that will be there. On the doubles side, Ken/Neal and Jonny/Luke are also playing.
