L32: (LL) Katie Boulter WR 88 (=CH) vs (Q) Ekaterina Alexandrova WR 78 (CH 69 in September 2017)

First up on Wednesday, 1 pm local, 10 am GMT.

Hopefully Katie can carry on her run of wins over the last year against against WRs 62 to 100.

Unless the WTA have changed their LL rules a win would give Katie 55 points instead of her 18 LL points rather than as well as, a swap I am sure she would be very happy with.

Katie a fairly sizeable underdog tomorrow, 9/4 vs 1/3, probably largely due to the aforementioned superb recent indoor record for Alexandrova, 14-1 en route to reaching WTA Linz final from qualifying and winning a 125k, plus coming through quals here, but as mentioned, Katie has a decent record against this sort of ranked player. As it was so late, it's an unexpected bonus whatever happens, but if she could somehow beat the two qualifiers and reach the QF, that would be absolutely massive for her.

Edit - she' drifted to 11/4 overnight.

Katie had 4 BPs opening game of the 2nd set and failed to take any of them... 5-7 *1-2

An hour on the clock. She will need the digging in deep to take something from this match, seems unlikely but ...

Hold's again after being taken to deuce 2-2, but a very quick service game against and now *2-3

Get in, takes the 2nd set 6-4. Looked in a bit of an awkward position at *3-4, but recovered, broke and then held.

4th match in a row to go 3 sets.

That was a really tight set - hardly anything in it.
But Katie played well.
Now to see if she has the resources for a third.....
