Well done but certainly a ranking level Katie has been very successful against since the start of last year.
Since then she she has won more matches against top 100 ranked players than she has lost (11-9) and has now won all 8 matches she has played against WR 62 to 100 players.
An update to figures I posted a few months ago: Beaten WRs 42, 47, 60, 64, 68, 73, 75, 91, 97, 98 & 100 Lost to WRs 6, 11, 17, 18, 18, 45, 51, 57 & 61
So in spite of sometimes mentioned big tournament wins I'd certainly say that she well deserves her top 100 ranking. Hopefully she can stay healthy, continue to train more, and continue to progress.
Of course she has also had a goodly ( or maybe rather badly ) number of defeats to lower ranked players, sometimes her health not helping her back up wins, other times no doubt just bad days at the office. So hope she does back up here.

Boulter underway. Quite a surprise that Kuzmova lost and Bonaventure awaits the winner. I'd make Boulter favourite to qualify now, but obviously a lot of work to do.
zavaska is going places in a hury boulter pretty good at the comeback in last souple years tho so still hope
Not as quick as other 18 years. Been a very modest few months for her, although she is obviously still very young. Katie was 1/3 to win so would be a bit of an opportunity missed, especially with top 50 Kuzmova going out.
Katie a break up in the second, but Zavatska has just held to end Katie's games streak. *2-1
Camilla Giorgi has withdrawn so there is a LL spot opening up and with the 1 and 2 going out, Katie would probably be in contention for that if she can see the Ukrainian off here. Wouldn't be a major surprise if Kvitova pulled out as well, so could be 2 spots.
Yes, whilst Novak is pummelling Nadal our Katie is fighting back in the match in St Petersburg (Leningrad?)
St Petersburg was the old imperial name yes, Julia. It became Petrograd in 1914, and then Leningrad after Lenin's death in 1924, but reverted to the former name, St Petersburg in 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Union. The region around the city I think is still called Leningrad.
As for Katie, lovely to see her go 3-1* up in the 3rd
