I see the singles has the same format as ATP challengers - 48 main draw, 4 qualifying draw. Not sure if Emily is in qualifying as the draw is not out yet.
2nd week of a slam other sode of the world 52 mostly local players get valuable wta points
125 eries suposed to be for regions that could not aford to run internationals or where tennis was a developing sport
and now most of them are in usa (all fund by ellison/oracle in a part of his plot to get IW made a slam as part of the wider gimmelstob coup) or china and a way to give cheap high points to mostly locals at times when other players are unlikely to get there
joke of a tournament series needs to be scrapped

I see we've dropped, or appear to have dropped, our southsea event, wasn't that a 125 event? What level of itf/wta are the surbiton, manchester, Ilkley events now ?
Em and Sanaz lose 64 76(7). Played well, lost a couple of deuce points early in the first. Had three set points at 5-4* having been a break down, and another in the tiebreaker at 7-6* (having been 3-6* down) so will feel a little sore still.
Apologies, more NBB, but Bouchard vs Andreescu should be a good match tonight in the quarters. Compatriots and Genie generally showing signs of getting back (despite the Serena outcome) and Bianca has been one of the stories of 2019 so far.
Andreescu won the title here and is now 16-2 in 2019 all at WTA 125k, WTA international and Grand Slam (+ qualies) level, that's some going, she also won 5 in a row to end the year, so 21-2. She's up to live rank 68 as well and overtakes Bouchard as Canda's #1
