Louis Cayer seems to be the inspiration - I realised he worked with Jamie and Dom but hadnt realised it was so wide...isnt he employed by the LTA then, big miss if they dont have him officially involved
I have had the pleasure of meeting Louis on several occasions and he works with ALL our doubles players. He is not just a top quality and meticulous coach, but he is a really great person as well. I believe he is employed directly by the LTA.
that is good to hear, the tweets seemed to imply he isnt valued or undervalued and made me wonder - perhaps he deserves a pay rise!
I first met him when they had a GB Doubles training week in La Manga about 4 years ago. I watched for 3 days, while he went through the drills and tactics. Present on that occasion were Jamie, Johnny M, Dom, Colin and Ross, Ken and Neal. The level of detail and preciseness of placement were incredible. I remember him doing a drill with Neal Skupski, without a ball, about the movement of the servers partner after a T or wide serve. In getting Neal to move correctly, we were talking inches in terms of the accuracy that he was demanding. It was truly fascinating to watch. There is no doubt that ALL the players hold him in extremely high regard. As you say, I hope the LTA do the same.
A couple of years later, he helped sort me out with a pass into Roland Garros and then I met him again at Wimbledon in 2016. He always has time to stop and chat.
