Now we start knocking each other out! Who do go for? the all Brit pair new to slams or the old fella who has done it all before? Cam and Fritz to go all the way would be fun, I hope they become a regular pair. I have a lot of time for Fritz striking out on his own after struggling with a paternal coaching arrangement, nice to see him consolidate a position well inside the top from which to develop.

Great results!

Dom starts tomorrow, and the Skupskis take on Kontineen/Peers

4 of the other 5 pairs go today, exception is Dom, presumably because Millman played a long singles late on today's schedule?

Harriet also up in ladies doubles, mentioning it here as there isnt a doubles thread on the ladies section it seems. Sorry if that upsets anyone!

And young Harriet & her Estonian partner, Anett Kontaveit, put the icing on the cake by coming through their match in three.  Sadly, it isn't a clean sweep so far, as Hev & her German partner, Tatjana Maria, went out in three to the fourth seeds, Melichar & Peschke.  cry

Unfortunately I think Hevs loss was predictable

Sock is a very, very good doubles player (obviously) so that will be tough for Cam/Fritz.

Louis Cayer seems to be the inspiration - I realised he worked with Jamie and Dom but hadnt realised it was so wide...isnt he employed by the LTA then, big miss if they dont have him officially involved

Yes, pretty wide.

I recall Luke in his coffee chat with Mike Cation saying he was one who in general had worked much less with Cayer for a while but had joined up for a session and was reminded of what a genius the man was. Quite a lot about angles and percentages I recall.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Louis on several occasions and he works with ALL our doubles players.  He is not just a top quality and meticulous coach, but he is a really great person as well.  I believe he is employed directly by the LTA.

that is good to hear, the tweets seemed to imply he isnt valued or undervalued and made me wonder - perhaps he deserves a pay rise!
