I was very curios when she switched earlier in the year, as it did come across a bit of a notable addition, and there is a bit more info from posters in there. She referenced that some of her family are from the UK and she did live here a bit when she was younger, but I'm sure she was born in the States. But those certainly are notable results, particularly Alice as you say because Alice had won routinely earlier in the day, so surely not a case of her being exhausted from that. Quite exciting.

 She was born in the US ( in Philadelphia I believe) . Her parents are British . Not sure about Montgomery, maybe Montgomery County, which is a suburb of Philadelphia. But the family have lived in Florida for a number of years, which is where Angelica trained and competed.

Good stuff. Interesting final. I'd be tempted to give Angelica a Woking MDWC regardless of the result.

I'm assuming the match time lengths are wrong.

There may well have been a rain delay - when I looked at the forecast earlier it ws pretty poor. But some of the reported match times have been a bit odd anyway. I would expect both those matches to be more like 90 mins than over three hours.

Ah, that would make more sense - I didn't even realise they were playing outside. Assumed they would be where the WTA Nottingham indoor matches were.

I am sure none of the match times are accurate as I was there earlier in the week. There was only one person running the tournament with no help and eight courts in use when qualifying and md last 32 and last 16 so probably not easy to get the times right while trying to be in lots of places at the same time.

The score says rather a lot about Freya at the moment - it's a shame.

Newcastle is under way, with QF and SF due to be played today.

The entry list for next weeks Premier event at Sutton is out. The event offers enhanced prize money - £2000 for the winner, plus wild cards as follows:-

"The winner of both singles events (if recognised by the ITF as playing under GBR) will be offered a wild card into the British Tour Masters 2019, plus players who play under GBR a wild card link to main draw GB Pro Series Roehampton-women 16 September & Shrewsbury-men 23 September
(Runner's up to qualifying of these $25k events)"
