I'm totally confused with what rankings are what these days... What do these rankings here represent RS? For Alicia for example, this is neither her WTA, ITF nor her national ranking. I know this is what is listed on the tournament site, but I haven't a clue what it represents any longer, or why only 4 players have rankings listed...

I think these are their 'old' (year-end) WTA rankings.  The final 4 are using their LTA domestic rankings.

Yes, they look like the rankings for 24 Dec.

The LTA say
"Seeding in all draws is based on ATP/WTA singles ranking, then ITF World Tennis singles ranking of 1500 or better*, followed by LTA rating (and then Open ranking) at the time of making the qualifying draw (7 day rank).

*ITF World Tennis singles ranking for seeding applies for draws made from 1 January 2019 onwards."

Except that Lily Miyazaki has never had a WTA ranking and nor does she have an ITF ranking, and Tiff Williams CH is 764 so her ranking was never 757.Thus the rankings of 24 Dec apply only to Alicia and Freya. I was confused as to how Lily could be ahead of Tiffany, and for that matter if she had a ranking listed here, which i still don't know where it comes from, why people like Sasha, Holly and Kimberly, who all now have ITF rankings, have no ranking listed in the draw.

Lily has been ranked for quite some time.  Internationally she uses her Japanese name, Yuriko Miyazaki

Ok thanks, that's certainly confusing since Yuriko Miyazaki is listed as a Japanese player with a current WR 643, and Lily Miyazaki is listed on the LTA website as a British player... But thanks for clarifying these are the same people the O!

She has always been Japanese, her parents worked over here and so she did all her junior tennis in the UK and so by default appears on the LTA site.  Both in the UK and at college (Oklahoma) she uses the anglicized Lily as a forename

No surprises in the R1 matches today, although Kim Mpukusa needed a third-set TB to beat Alisha Reayer

Just the one upset in the second round today - Kim Mpukusa lost to Jodie Annie Lawrence-Taylor 6-2 6-4
The other remaining seven seeds all won in straight sets.

Great to see Esther Adeshina back, hope she's fit and healthy now.

Good win for Tiff, 7-6(5) 6-4. I suspect she has been training harder than Lissey over the break though, from what I have seen on social media.
Freya's win over Lily was about what I expected 6-3 6-2

Yes that is a very good win for Tiffany! Tiffany doesn't even have a WTA ranking at the moment, but this is an encouraging win for her. Will be interesting to see how she and Freya get on.

Freya won the final 6-4 6-2. She cruised through the whole tournament impressively. That was her closest match!
