BTW, this tournament is actually Navi Mumbai (= New Bombay), which is a city in its own right.

Great for Emily, she has finally managed to come through qualifying again... won the first set before her opponent retired.
In the first set Emily came back from 0-3, 2-4 and 4-5, so it was a gutsy win. Second set went with serve for the two games, so its not clear what happened to her opponent, but might have done something in the last game when Emily was serving.

FQR: WEBLEY-SMITH, Emily (GBR) 8 557 beat VESELINOVIC, Ana (MNE) 13 724 CH=329 2007 7-5 1-1 ret

R1: Emily WEBLEY-SMITH (GBR) (Q) vs. Sowjanya BAVISETTI (IND) (Q)

Not too bad as draws go. Bavisetti was the 14th seed in qualifying but put out the top seed in straight sets.

L16: Katarzyna KAWA (POL) & Emily WEBLEY-SMITH (GBR) vs. Nika KUKHARCHUK (RUS) & Pei-Chi LEE (TPE)

Emily starts her doubles campaign tomorrow.

 Sure it wasn't mine ?

Final set tie-break - almost dead level on points after 2 hours 40 mins
