Yes, wonderful to see both those results from Mandy today, and really glad both she and Alice could celebrate their returns at the end of it!
Another long match for Mandy, 2hrs 45 mins, so hope there are no after effects from it. This is just her second point and second counter on her return, so the deeper she can go this week the better. She is still 38 on an alt list for next week's Spanish 15k so the more points she can gain this week and the hope of another WC, the better.
Mandy playing her QF in doubles. The match looked gone at 2-6 *0-4 but they fought back to 6-5 before the 2nd set went to a tie-break which they won 8-6. Into a MTB.
Terrific to see Mandy back and winning.
If she was 100% match fit I would have said she had a great chance of winning the whole tournament.
The main aim is to keep fit and get that ranking back to where it was.

It's going to take her a long time to achieve the latter Paulisi! First of all Mandy has to gain any kind of WTA ranking again. A good result this week will set her on the way to regaining an ITF ranking, but in terms of WTA qualifying points for next year she only has 1 so far. For now, she needs to get her current WTA ranking back (reaching 10 points or 1 more counter), so that she can at least enter the tournaments she wishes to. She is still only 30 on the Alt list for next week's Spanish 15k, though with luck, based on her performance here so far she will get at least a qWC.... it's a long path back, and I fear the new set up for next year will make that path more arduous and complicated for people like Mandy who have had a lengthy time out either for injury, or as in many other cases, becoming a mother.
