What sort of ranking would Jonny need to make the cut for Aus Open? He must be getting close.

I think that it is generally reckoned that a combined ranking of about 150 is needed for Slams.

Jonny was already WR 64 in Monday's ranking and is now live ranked 63 so looking good for his half. Needs an appropriately ranked partner of course.

 Luke Bambridge!

 Or his current partner...

Not sure this pairing has convinced me this week, understand they reached the final, but...

While they did have very tight matches with lower ranked pairs before being well beaten in the final it is very early days as a partnership if regular partnership it is to become. So not too bad at this stage.

Though in the ongoing musical chairs I see that Jonny is pairing up with Ken S in Bratislava this coming week while Hugo Nys is in France.

It is certainly possible that Nys is looking for a good doubles partnership.
He's 27 now, his singles ranking is dreadful but his doubles one is decent and he must be making passable money off it (he made the dubs md of all the grand slams this year, for instance).
But lots of French tennis players move around in dubs, the idea of an established partnership isn't so rated, team tennis means you're expected to be able to play with anyone, as long as you get on with them, which given Hugo plays a fair bit with Benoit paire shouldn't be an issue because it implies he must be reasonably easy going......
