Rubini is the 6th seed here. It's Ali/Alicia who are in line to face Rus in R2.

This is rather confusing - just assuming the section on Q3 shouldn't be there at all

Doubles draw is also out - seven pairs involving Brits.
Freya partners Valeria Savinykh and they are top seeds.
Beth and Olivia are seeded 2 - and play Eden+

Just realised Ella is 23 - I thought she was like 18/19.

Has she played much since the grass season, not really seen much from her since and she had a few good results over the summer?

Who would you say has a higher ceiling between her and SBG?

SBG is the better player by far.

Some interesting match ups there.

Excited to see what Emma can do at the 25k level.

Would certainly imagine Beth has the much higher ceiling, especially since I think she has quite a bit of upside still on her ranking as she matures further and gets better at matchplay such as closing matches out.

Though I don't know much at all about Ella.

I saw a few games at Chiswick when Lissey beat Ella 2 & 2 and that looked a fair reflection on the day. I'd expect Beth to win, but maybe not so easily given her current problems closing matches out.

 Yes agree with that.

I've seen Ella. She is more than capable of putting up the odd upset, but plays in spurts and not convinced by her court attitude at times.

Definitely.

Ella is very small, which doesn't help. And can be very sulky at times. In terms of ceilings, and who knows and all that, but I would be surprised if Ella made top 500 whereas Beth has definitely got the potential to get inside the top 300. (That said, Beth can snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory, so you never know in a one-off match)

Ella went to college which is why she's that bit older without Ace V maybe realising it.

I like the fact that Emma R doesnt do doubles.... it is completely clear where her focus is.
