That is a brilliant result. She really has stepped up a level today. Huge congratulations Emma.

Emma is more than ready for this level, she probably pushed herself too hard during the summer playing through injury great that she has eased off and got fitter and stronger. It will be very interesting to see the schedule she plays through the winter. I think the toughest challenge will be taking a long term view, staying fit not over training or overplaying. She always had the technique and attitude ie hit it in! but one never knows exactly how teenagers will grow and the weight of shot they will have as an adult. Emma is beginning to answer those questions, a dominant performance in Turkey and a very good win here.

Hopefully Holly Fischer will get fit and back on track a bit of peer pressure never did anyone any harm.

Yes, goes without saying but what a brilliant win for young Emma.

With her Romanian dad and Chinese mum, it's a really interesting family, and she seems such a level-headed, talented, bright, athletic girl, a real credit to them.

Does anyone know how Holly is getting on? She has not played since the spring.

Well, she played at the end of June - at the Wimbly qualis - and that was pretty awful. No news since then.

Could Emma play at all next week either through a potential SE or a WC, or will school / not entering affect that?

Yes, Emma needs next week as well to have a chance of being in the season end GB top 10

I think that it would have to be a WC since she isn't entered for next week.

Emma did not enter Shrewsbury, which indicates she has no plans to play.

There are no SE's available from Wirral as the final is Saturday and qualifying starts Sunday.

In terms of ITF wildcards, Emma has one left as she got a wildcard into Didsbury.

Absolutely outstanding. Plays 8th seed Greet Minnen next who is just outside the top 300, just realised she is the gf of Alison VU.

That is winnable, although to be fair Minnen has done well recently.

Both were similarly ranked at junior level. Minnen should have dropped a set to Louise Holtum in Shrewsbury a few years ago, which is the only time I've seen her live.
