Maia does face 8th seed Monova next who beat her French opponent 1-6 7-6 6-0 earlier. May well have saved MPs.

Well Maia will not be the favourite here considering Monova's only year old CH, but means she can go in to the match with nothing to lose and at least should be able to give Monova a good go.

She should also be able to take some positives as well that 19 year old Emma Lene, ranked 770, had 6-1 *5-3 against her earlier today.
