Week 44 - ITF ($60K) - Toronto, Canada Hard

naomis serve looks noticeabely truncated she got this weird step down at the top of her swing which is stoping her geting full power like she used to
like she dropping her serve elbow throuogh the swing rather than a clean arc
or maybe i imagineing things

she looked like a 2016 naomi today which was plesant surprise does she know where eh got that from and can she acess it again for the next match cos that looked pretty good to me unlike any other time i seen her in last ~12 months

Like a top 100 player ?

Though to be fair Naomi has probably never looked like a top 100 player but was deservedly there largely due to her serve.

Well done Naomi.

Possible rematch with Lopatetskaya next.

So delighted to see Naomi finally getting a win. Really hope she can continue in this vein and halt her slide down the rankings.

Would both agree and disagree with that if thats possible. Its the technique that makes her look probably circa200 but there are poorer players around the 100 mark just now Id say.

It didn't really matter in the end as Fan lost in QR1, but there were 3 LL spots here and the person who beat Fran ended up with one. Lopatetskaya drew another LL so you'd imagine she would be strong favourite to progress and face Naomi again.

Lopatestskaya was 2-6 *3-5 down against the LL, but she has won 6 games straight and now leads 2-6 7-5 *2-0

The 15 year old came through, 6-3 in the 3rd, so it'll either be revenge or repeat for Naomi.
