Week 44 - ITF ($60K) - Toronto, Canada Hard

Looks all but over. 4-6 2-5* so Kinnard serving for the match. She's won 8 of the last 11 games.

Hmm, must be bad as you'd thought at that scoreline and the other person serving for it, she could have just let her opponent fire 4 aces. Shame. She had that 60k event in Chile next week where she's well up in the main draw - hope she's OK for that.

Yes, hope Fran will be OK for Chile, though in a way trust that she wasn't OK at 4-6 2-5*

Difficult to know, I expected Fran to qualify here with ease just hope shes OK re general wear and tear on her body; particularly hands and wrists. She has had a superb year transitioning as a 17 year old turning 18 in September particularly when you compare her with the girls a year older who kept playing juniors, Jodie and Emily App. Like everyone else on here lets hope she is in good shape to play in Chile.

It will be interesting to watch her development in the next 4 or 5 years once her body stops growing. I wonder if it will be tougher or easier on her hands and wrists. To be admired regardless on what happens, getting to the top 400 at a young age is an achievement in itself.

Not the easiest, but you'd like to think Naomi could come through that. If she does, it could set up a rematch with the talented Ukrainian 15 year old as she has an SE and plays a qualifier first.

Naomi's match is underway, and she seems to have taken her serve with her today. 65% first serves in, 85% won
*3-1

Forgot about Naomi even though I was the last to post on it yesterday. Thought this was just a TaCo doubles bump.

She's going very well, *5-1.

This is going south fast - I swear she was in a commanding position in the 7th game but ended up getting broken and is now *5-3 0-30.

Well I hope that was a blip. Takes the set 7-5 and will serve first in the second

Good stuff. Feared the worst at *5-5 15-30, but half of the job done.

She would have been kicking herself if she didn;t take it as she had *5-1 30-0 and 40-30 but was pegged back.
