Taco managed to win their doubles, although it took a tie-break and a MTB to do it. They were heading for a major implosion from *4-0 30-0 in the second when they lost 18 points out of 21 to be pulled back to 4-4
QF: Moore, Tara GBR / Perrin, Conny SUI 3 def Anderson, Robin USA / Manasse, Maegan USA 3-6 7-6(3) 10-6
Yes, so pleased they got the win. Did anyone notice how the next players using the court had moved in before Taco and their opponents had a chance to leave? It was very crowded for a while; appeared somewhat bizarre, to my my mind anyway.
Fran lost 2-6 5-7. Shame the way the second set ended after being in a good position but (while I didn't see any of it) it looks like she competed well and it was pretty much job done already having won her first round match in a 60k event.
Not sure if she plays next week, but she's got a weak 60k event in Chile in a couple of weeks where she may well be seeded.

Fran is still down for the Toronto 60K next week. The ITF site shows her as 8th on the qualifying list, one place behind Tara, with Naomi on the MD list.
Good looking effort today at the level of tournament against the level of opponent. Very good signs.
Another non GB bump, but the 15 year old Naomi conqueror has just made the SFs beating 6th seed Ponchet in straight sets. Caught a bit of it and I can see her being very good to watch when she matures further and should be another great addition to the women's game.
Imagine being a Ukrainian women's tennis fan at the moment - you've got a bona-fide top 10 player in Svitolina who has won multiple P5s and into the semi's of the WTA finals. Someone not even 18 and a half (Yastremska) who has just won a full WTA title and backed it up with a semi final the week after, beating the likes of Muguruza and Wang and then 2 very exciting 15/16 year olds in Dasha and Kostyuk. Zavatska is also just 18 and already in the top 200. As crazy as it sounds, a fine player like Tsurenko, who is in the top 30 and almost at a career high almost becomes a bit of an afterthought with all this emerging talent.
Lopatetskaya plays the local Sebov in the semi final so you'd think she'd have a decent chance of making the final, although I have just seen Sebov beat another Ukrainian, the top seed Kozlova (who had been in better form recently) 6-1 6-1, so not really sure what happened there.
