Any of you night owls want to want Jodie, she's 2nd on Court 2 which has not long got underway, so probably around 2am and the match is being streamed.

On a side note, does anyone know much about the Aussie Erin Routliffe? She's playing Q8 Melisse and is 1/20 to win despite being 23 and a half and 749 in the world. Promising college grad or something? Meliss is 21 and currently 638, so not that much difference, especially at the level, but that's a crazy discrepancy in the odds.

She's actually New Zealand after switching from Canada last year (got my flags mixed up)

You've misread the doubles draw, the addict. Jodie and Soumeya meet in the QF if they win their R1 matches

Never nice to see a retirement, but to use a pun from here a few weeks back, Jodie's opponent did topple over and retired 5-0 down so Jodie makes the main draw.

So two Bulgarian retirements vs Jodie. Maybe they had a dodgy meal together.

That's got to be up there with the easiest route through 3 rounds of Qs for a 60k event. She only had to win 27 games instead of the usual 36 minimum and only lost 3 combined.

Options are 2 seeded Ausies in Fourlis and Perez, the talented Tere-Apisah and Zlochova who I assume she would prefer.

I was meant to be going to bed but keep checking the score. It's gone pretty South quickly for Katy who has lost 4 games in a row, 1-4*.

Kato has not a match since mid July and has only won matches at one event since March, that was a 25k event in Thailand where she was the top seed. Her ranking has plummeted after barely winning a match since reaching the Hiroshima final in 2017.
