Cam's in, but it's a rotten draw:

L32:  (LL) Cameron Norrie WR 89 vs (4) John Isner (USA) WR 10 (CH = 8 in July)  bleh

PHH got Verdasco so hardly a better draw there.

I reckon Isner is beatable by cam. He's got other things on his mind, pressure all on him Re world tour finals, and cam will be used to Isner sort of game from all his time in USA. Plus cam will make him play lots of balls. Plus 2 rounds of qualies mean that he will be used to the courts.

I'm going to go for a cam win. 3 sets though and two tiebreaker s

Also Cams already beaten him in an atp tournament this year, so hes got that psychological mini advantage.

Isner is certainly beatable by Cam, and was beaten by him 7-6(1) 6-4 in Lyon in May, albeit on clay.

Time for Cam to get a new CH win. It stands as that Isner WR 10 win. Isner will be WR 9 in tomorrow's rankings.

Anyone else worrying about an "after the lord mayor's show" result in this one ?  Tough draw to focus on after the emotion of the win in Antwerp.

Like the WTA, I wouldn't be surprised if another player currently outside the cut qualified for the O2 and in this case #10, but it's #9 as it stands and I'd much prefer Nishikori to qualify than Isner so another reason for me to want Cam to advance here.

I am definitely not worried but expecting it and throughly deserved, shame though tactically for the younger players breaking through the autumn European indoor ATP tournaments often allow them to stack up on points so potentially an opportunity missed.

Kyle will have until Wednesday to regroup to go again. Not on the Monday or Tuesday schedule.

Cam vs Isner is on Tuesday.

Apparently it is Isner who has withdrawn quoting a right hip pain, although he still appears to be in singles and thus playing Cam. Be interesting to see what develops...
