Here we go again, Jaggy1876 with his pathetic, childish comments on doubles. As usual belittling the achievements of our players, this being even more ridiculous when we look at what a great year this has been for our doubles guys. Jaggy is your typical internet troll who has no friends, sits at home typing things he wouldn't dare say to anyone's face - just grow up Jaggy for goodness sake!
Much as it might go against the grain (Jaggy is like one of those feral cats - even if you try and be 'nice' to them, they still turn round and take your hand off when you're not looking ), I think you're slightly over the top in this one Mark. Looking purely at this comment (and not other doubles-bashing), he was basically saying that it was too soon to write off Luke in singles. Which was not what I was doing, in fact.
And coming from a French background, where doubles is indeed only for those who are getting too old, or can't really make it in singles for some other reason, I actually agree with the doubles definition he gave.
I know the UK system views things differently, and clubs here prioritise doubles, and county week or whatever is all doubles. And it shows - the GB players are way better at doubles. And doing great. And good for them.
But that, I think, is the problem. There are barely any singles players. The system is c*ock-eyed.
Sorry Coup Droit but you've completely missed my point. This is not about one comment Jaggy has made about Luke but the bigger picture in that he has been trolling all our doubles players on here repeatedly for many months if not longer, he has not got a good word for any doubles players. I rarely visit this forum now but he is slagging someone off every single time I look here. All of us, myself included have made negative comments from time to time but he has gone beyond the pail.
He is the one who is over the top with his constant trolling, other board members have also commented on his behaviour. I'll stand by everything I said.
To be fair, I suspect that there are quite a number of people who have felt like expressing similar sentiments to Mark, maybe only put off by thinking that might be the reaction being looked for.

A few things to address here and lets gets factual. Calling me an internet troll is out of line, thats a personal direct comment so you can apologise for that, perhaps it is you sir that needs a wee look at yourself. Ive noticed youve went off on one a few times with other posters. I will quite happily say anything I say so here to anybody at any tournaments I go to so no worries there. Text has no tone or inflection remember.
Next you can give me an example of where I have trolled all our Doubles players? Joe Salisbury, Dom Inglot, Skupskis etc etc. You wont find it. All you will find is an example of young singles players who have expressed disappointment that they choose doubles over singles. Luke B, Jonny and Luke J is now a possibility. This is an issue that is maybe something for British Tennis to address, losing young players far too early. I have never directly or indirectly contacted any tennis players on social media or internet, nor have I tagged them on Twitter, bar the one tennis player I know and who knows me to see.
You also say I have no good words for doubles players. That again is wrong my friend, I have in the past commented on Slams in years gone by and raised suggestions for improvements. So thats now 3 inaccurate statements.
Furthermore, this is a forum to express opinion, fact, knowledge and comment. As long as there are no personally directed attacks, abuse, spam or libellous or illegal comments then its fair game Id say. None of hers things apply. Variety is the spice of life, even I guess in stuffier sports like tennis, although maybe thats part of the problem. Lets not take things too seriously maybe.
And finally, I will refrain from repeating such comments on doubles, unless it is relevant to the issue in hand for ongoing competition as there will be times when this arises for various reasons.

this works well on forums that dont have a mute option lilke this one where people want to mute for example me and my awful english :- ) or jaggy and his old chestnuts: elitism in tennis players he has desided are tennis tourists how unfair it is that rich people playing tennis doubles has no value short forms of names etc
all of which he just bring up over and over as tho he think stating it again enough time will make it true lol
just bleep right over me or him or both or others when it gets boring
i glad it not just alowed to lie and gets chalenged when it first hapen
And we have a winner.... arise Sir Tom for hook, line and sinker the wee Easter Egg planted. A wee test to see if you would take on board any of my points. But no you fell in the trap ignored them all, went for that and continued to personally attack.
I've just read your comments Jaggy. First I will apologise for nothing, secondly you and everybody else on here knows exactly what you are - a stirrer who has no respect for doubles players whatsoever. You add nothing to the debate on doubles so just stay away and leave it for those who enjoy the format..
Despite posting again after you said you wouldn't I will leave you to have the last word which you no doubt will do.
