If you look up Doubles Specialist in the dictionary I believe the literal translation is A player unable to play tennis to a sufficient level on his own.

Lets not write off Lukey this early.

I'm with you on doubles (well, pretty much......smile). And I wasn't writing him off in singles at all - nothing said above about him being a doubles specialist.

I was just saying, in light of the fact that he'd just won the dubs title, that paulisi has mentioned his doubles ability. And adding my belief that college boys are pretty good at doubles - which is not stating anything amazing - they obviously play, practice and get trained in a lot of doubles while at college and that shows in their results. Works well as a betting strategy ....

Personally, I'd love it if he focused on singles - come on, Luuukeeeey !

Yes, would ge good to see Luke make more progress in singles and he has been trying to make that progress. Not sure that he has been particularly neglecting that side, that he has at all been specialising in doubles, just he has been doing much better in doubles.

But the evidence has been that earlier in the year paulisi, as well as rating Luke's doubles, had a decent feel for Luke's singles level and prospects in the short to medium term although this was questioned by Jaggy.

Not at this stage looking close to the 500s as a singles player, essentially just as paulisi had inferred without making a big thing about it. Hope he can find the extras that he needs.

Well done on the doubles title.
