With the Pitaks,

Ola = Aleksandra

Kasia = Katarzyna

( which could no doubt be surmised from the attached results )

Evidently what they are known as but yes at times can get rather confusing if not known and especially with both Pitaks playing.

 I see Simmy is out of the WTA finals with injury today. Chance for Ang, Cazza or Nomes to maybe grab the number 1 ranking.

nah dude

simo
angie
caro

very comon names for those 3

never seen osaka called anything but naomi or osaka

everyone else been using comon or self declared nicknames or forms
if you gonna make stuf up why not at least be creative

halep = lisa - simona > mona > mona lisa
kerber = funshine - kerber > care bare > name of a care bare
wozniacki = apple sr - wozniacki > wozniak > steve wozniak co apple founder > wozniacki longer than wozniak so sr
osaka = otter - osaka rime with tarka > tarka the otter

etc or you can save yourself a lot of troubel and use their names or acknowledged short/alt forms

or we can get all tennis forum, and start calling halep haley simmons or similar lol

 Or we can just maybe call them by their reported names and commonly known refers to persons close to them and not creepy men on forums. It seems to mainly apply to the women Ive noticed.

This is exactly what we are doing Jaggy, calling them by the names they are commonly known by, and is used within their friends and family. There is nothing made up about these names at all.... end of.

Ola and Kasia are the commonly shortened versions of their respective names in Poland, in the same way as Andy, Dan, Cam, Ed, Jo and Gabi are the commonly shortened versions of their respective English names.

Whichever of the three Ekaterina Makarova's pitched up today, Kasia lost to her. Still another 2 pts put away this week for her.

QF: Katarzyna PITAK (GBR) [Q] UNR lost to Ekaterina MAKAROVA (RUS) [WC] 876=CH 2-6 4-6
