Jay may have drawn the top seed, but Thompson is the player he edged in the Binghamton final to win his first Challenger singles title.
Let's hope he can reproduce some of his form from that day, it seems to have been sadly lacking ever since that match. Hope nothing untoward's going on either physically or in the background.

Same. I would actually prefer Evo to have landed Thompson as I feel more confident he could beat him.

It's also worth mentioning that one Ivo Karlovic is in the draw (former top 15 player) although he is still to play his challenger final against David Ferrer in Monterrey Mexico (39 year old vs 36 year old).

No, I'd prefer Evo just to get on and gather as many points as possible. In the relatively short term he is the one heading higher and catching up on lost time and lost ranking. Jay will come again but not happening for him just now. Maybe he'll indeed gather a bit of inspiration with Thompson there across the net again.

This is one of those times where I will happy to be wrong and you right!
