Round up of the doubles. Other semi final will be played tomorrow and the final is scheduled to be played too.
Random fact: New Zealand holds no professional tennis tournaments. So Erin has to play in Aus to gain her ranking... Also if Suzie Larkin is now NZ based, that would be one reason she hasn't played many ITF tournaments this year. Interesting in fact the countries that hold no ITF tournaments at all. Denmark is another.

QF: Jodie Anna Burrage/ Albina Khabibulina (GBR/UZB) 867 (579+288) lost to Naiktha Bains/ Abigail Tere-Apisah (AUS/PNG) [3] 458 (143+315) 4-6 5-7

SF: Freya Christie/ Erin Routliffe (GBR/NZL) [1] 390 (291+99) beat Naiktha Bains/ Abigail Tere-Apisah (AUS/PNG) [3] 458 (143+315) 6-4 6-3

F: Freya Christie/ Erin Routliffe (GBR/NZL) [1] 390 (291+99) vs

Yes ok, I meant ITF tournaments - which I did clarify later in my sentence! - in which local players could be expected to play and boost their rankings. In this year's Auckland open 3 Kiwi's had WCs into qualifying, as did Suzy Larkin, with none winning their matches, and one Kiwi, Jade Lewis, had a WC into the MD and lost too. So that's the limit of NZ women's participation in professional tournaments in their own country in one year...

Just to note Freya and Erin's final opponents, and the holdover of the match till tomorrow.

F: Freya Christie/ Erin Routliffe (GBR/NZL) [1] 390 (291+99) vs Samantha Harris/ Astra Sharma (AUS/AUS) 1146 (800+346) 1-3 interrupted

Toowoomba - I feel like an owl saying that - has been a washout again today. There is still one women's QF unfinished, and tomorrow, Sunday, they have scheduled the end of the QF, the SF and the F. It means Freya has to hang around too for her doubles final.

That's a great performance from Freya and Erin overcoming that early deficit they had.

After a frentic day for the singles, Zo Hives who beat Katy D in the first round, ended up beating Ellen Perez, who had to play 2 1/3 matches today
