Week 41 - ITF ($15K) - Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Hard

Bit unlucky that two out of three of the girls got such a nasty draw (one would seem 'fair', two seems a bit mean).

But nice of Em Lindh to have got a wildcard in the first place and, indeed, for Kasia to be in the main draw even though she's unranked.....

Yes indeed, the momentum chart indicates that in that 12th game she lost 3 SPs and saved 2 BPs before losing the game on the 3rd BP. Margins.

And now she is a quick break down 2nd set cry

Emilie has pulled this back to 3-3 second set. Whatever the outcome this is an incredibly optimistic and encouraging performance from her.

In the 7th game, Emilie had one GP on her serve to make it 4-3*, but then lost three points in a row to lose the game, and thereafter the last three service games went on serve. No points this week, but much for Emilie to be proud of and encouraged by. She is on the MD acceptance list for next week too, so will hope for a better draw then!

Weird match that, Kasia won 6-0 6-0, but sandwiched in the middle went AWOL in the second set. Still she might not care too much, that's her third counter this year and a ranking

Fortunately the rest of the doubles picked up after then. The Pitaks carried on their winning streak winning their MTB 105, whilst Sasha and Sophie nicked their MTB 12-10 - but they were 5-9 down and so saved 4 MPs, and then were 9-10 down, saving a 5th MP, before winning the last 3 points and the match on their first MP!!!

Emilie has had a tough day. After her brave effort in the singles against the top seed, she and her partner also faced 5 MPs in their MTB, but lost on the 5th one and did not have a chance to earn a single one themselves.
