Lissey and Eden win their doubles too, after a horrible first set where they lost 5 games in a row from 3-1 up. Thereon they only lost 12 points however! 3-6 6-0 10-4
Worked out pretty well in the end. When there's about 18 higher ranked players in the draw (above Maia), to get 2 through is good going. Ella did well getting through in the first place and without seeing the match, you have to think if she lost 3 and 2 to not in great form Maia, she'd probably have struggled with most ranked above her. Nice to see Maia win as she does have a lot of points to defend between now and early February.
In the SF Eden will come up against her second round singles opponent again. It was the 2nd seeds (ranked 561) they put out in the QF. Maia and Harmony face the much higher ranked top seeds.
SF: Maia Lumsden/ Harmony Tan (GBR/FRA) 1084 (587+497) vs Katarzyna Piter/ Barbora Stefkova (POL/CZE) [1] 357 (239+118)
SF: Alicia Barnett/ Eden Silva (GBR/GBR) 1097 (524+573) vs Kolodziejova, Miriam/ Maleckova, Jesika (CZE/CZE) [4] 589 (410+179)
The unranked 17 year-old who's been mentioned on here a few times as one of the touted French youngsters - Loudmilla BENCHEIKH - has just put out the top seed, Frech, WR 138, in two sets.
Well a very good win form Lissey and Eden who have made it into the doubles final. They were 4-8 down in the MTB but really pulled it back, winning 5 points in a row to go to 9-8 and then winning on their 2nd MP. They will play the winner of Maia and Harmony's match.
