Nothing to be gained by playing on with a minor niggle (ankle) at this stage of the year. Next year is make or break as to whether he will ever get back to the top level. Best way to do that is focus on pre-season from now and hit the ground running in January.
I'm a "no". Although Andy had some quite encouraging performances he clearly still has had some issues playing back to back tournaments. I think best to call it off early and continue rehab and training to come out for 2019 in the best way he can.
He was already intending Beijing being his last tournament of the year and the supposedly minor ankle problem just brought that forward one tournament.
