Huge congrats to Evan, who wins the biggest singles title of his career so far (and his first since he won his first two Futures singles titles in Tunisia in 2015), holding his nerve after being broken to love the first time he served for the match!
FINAL: Evan Hoyt WR 656 beat (8) Colin Sinclair (NMI) WR 648 (=CH) by 6-4 7-6(5)
He'll rise to GB no, 10 and around 200 places to about 450 over the next two Mondays
Spare a thought for the former Aussie and American who is now the Northern Mariana Islands' finest though (he was actually born on the islands, though presumably switched so that he could play Davis Cup for the composite Pacific Oceania team) - he has made his first four Futures singles finals in his last four tournaments has lost all four of them.

GB on a shirt, Davis Cup still gleaming, 79 years of hurt, never stopped us dreaming ... 29/11/2015 that dream came true!
Congratulations to Evan very very pleased for him and what a testament to his desire despite loosing the vast majority of that critical time in development between 18 and 21. Bloody marvellous
I do wonder if he is genuinely over his injury problems whether having fewer miles on the clock and now being physically mature may extend his career the other end. Players now improve through their mid twenties and if he can make an impression on the challenger tour who knows, it is not like he is a bolt from the blue, but a top talent who is the antithesis of Oli G.
It must be so frustrating to have been a major part of that 2011 Junior Davis Cup win ie he was one of the two singles players, Kyle the other with Luke Bambridge playing doubles. It is something we have not come close to being competitive in since and even eluded our precocious 2001 cohort. It will be very exciting to compare the two cohorts in terms of genuine ATP tour talent both doubles and singles perhaps 1995 has another slow burner.
It is very interesting that our team in 2011 was probably (happy to be corrected) the oldest team ever to win it ie. all three boys born within 2 weeks in Jan 1995.
Fabulous news to wake up to. Congrats to Evan. Nobody is more deserving after all he has been through. Hopefully, as has been said before, if he can maintain an injury free run, we will see him continue to rise up the rankings and begin to make his mark at challenger level next year.
Good run down under for Evan. Lets hope this can continue next week. Id hope hes planning on staying for the Challengers as well. Wont get many Challengers that weak. Cut off for the first one is 415.
I haven't seen Evan play for a few years, and liked him then. But I know someone said on here that Evan and - in particular - his fans were very noisy and borderline disruptive at one of the more recent events. And that made me like him even more I know you've got to show respect and all that but it's so blinkin' quiet and church-like at so many events in Britain that a bit of Welsh rowdiness sounds great, as far as I'm concerned.
