Just to note that Evan's doubles partner, Dusty Boyer, unseeded, has also had a great week this week, beating Klein in R2, and then making the semis (although via a w/o).
Must be a nice vibe for Evan too, that the two of them are doing well.
THere'll now come up against each other in the SF.
Evan's got to be favourite to make another final.
NB agree with Jaffa, if it hadn't been for nasty, long injuries, Evan would be a lot higher ranked - the lad's got real class when he plays. But he's only 23 and it's exciting for him (and Tennis Wales, who get very animated ) that - touch wood - he seems fit and on form.

Just my observation as I saw a lot of him in Cairns and Ive seen a bit of him here is that his level is rising with the confidence of going deep week on week.
I had the pleasure of meeting Evan a few years ago when he was training in La Manga. I watched him play a set with Oli Golding (remember him anyone?) and the talent was clear to see. But even then he was complaining about a sore back and it was shortly after that he was diagnosed with the first of his stress fractures which led to a long lay off. He has been through so much injury wise that it is now great to see him finally get a good run of fitness. Long may it continue.
As others have suggested, we are only now beginning to see his full potential and I can see him rising much further up the rankings. If anyone has deserved this for perseverance it is Evan. Great to see him performing so well.
For those who don't know him so well, he has his own web page with background info and the occasional blog.

I see he is slated to rise to about WR 570 next week, and then the week after he should already be past his CH, and one more win is likely to carry him into the top 500. I wish him some continued injury free good fortune too, would love to see where he is really capable of rising to.
Evan comes from a set down to make his 2nd final in a row and consign Dusty's excellent run to the bin
SF: Evan Hoyt WR 656 beat (Q) Dusty Boyer (USA) WR 983 (CH in Jul) by 4-6 6-3 6-1
FINAL: Evan Hoyt WR 656 v (8) Colin Sinclair (NMI) WR 648 (=CH)
This is the 4th Futures event in a row where Sinclair has made the final - the previous 3 were in Huy, Damme and Monastir, after which he took a break for a couple of weeks before playing here. The Aussie lost those other three finals, so let's hope that continues too!
Evan is already certain to rise at least 150 places over the next two Mondays to around 500 - 68 points would get him just inside the top 500 at the moment but it'll be touch and go whether it's enough on Monday week.
Edit: to correct the country for which Sinclair plays, as per CD's post.
