Ahh shhh is a Millwall fan, explains the hate comment, he will be used to that with it being evident on the terraces there. Make Leeds United and Burnley fans seem like angels that lot. Pondlife springs to mind when I visited The Den about 15 years ago.
Im confused how the word hate can be used when describing a fortunate points gathering. I would call it observational. Anyway Im sure we will see the fearhand back up his top 16 ranking next season with wins against Nadal, Zverev, Thiem, Cilic etc next year....
Zverev out means Kyle will have another great chance to be in a final of an ATP 500 without playing anyone of merit. Dont think Ive known a more fortunate Brit when you consider draws. Its like a challenger for him here.
Kyle can only beat those in front of him. If he beats the man who beat the second seed, good luck to him. I hope he makes it to the final, a welcome return to form if he does
If Kyle is beating Nadal, Zevrev, Thiem, Cilic he wont be no 16 he will be No 1 ish!
Gary Players response after chipping in from 50yds to a fan who said thats lucky to which I eluded to earlier ie the harder you work the luckier you get is apt in Kyles case. His rise to the top of the rankings is not lucky, but down to year on year incremental improvement, analysis of weaknesses and then rededication to address them.
We havent had many top 20 British players ever partly because Kyles attitude is something most can only aspire to, that And collossal dollop of talent is what gets you to no 16 in the world. Luck is something that wins you the lottery.
Watching Millwall is a diverse experience, I left at half time on Boxing Day because of the torrent of racist abuse and foul language and it was a cracking game v Wolves, with gates of only about 9k the New Den must be one of the loudest grounds full stop. I got the experience I got fundamentally because I sat in the wrong place, I know where the idiots sit but hadnt quite realised how far to the right in the upper dockets stand my seat was, and this Saturday will be the first time back for since. Hamlet is vastly preferable but there again I am a left of centre middle class male and probably just tending towards my tribe.
The majority of Millwall fans are decent people (there are far more distasteful individuals with more extreme views in both the labour and conservative parties) those running the club tending to fantastic, the community engagement is second to none particularly as advocates for Womens football. The likes of Liverpool and Man Utd had until recently completely ignored facilitating footie for 50% of their fan base. If you are from Bermondsey its your club its not cheap but not overpriced and its not unusual to see families going enbloc exactly as you do at Anfield. If you avoid the upper dockers stand and are happy to accept that the c word may be used as a verb and the f as a noun and go with that expectation you will get a old fashioned high octane football experience, no prawn sandwiches and no chance of nodding off regardless of how much you have drunk.

This is not a football thread, least of all a Millwall one but I must say that is by far the most accurate descriptions (imo), warts and all, coming from outside of the club I have ever read. Thank you Oakland. And more to the point.....well done Kyle. This draw has indeed opened for him nicely but he's getting the job done well, lets hope he goes further. Its worth remembering that he has his ranking, fortunate draws on accession or not, when his health has been far from 100%. He may not have the talent of a Murray but by God he's making the best of what he has!

That should now be a career high (Currently 14 in play)
Noone can now this week overtake Kyle's live #14 1990 points. Gasquet would equal these points if he wins the Tokyo title. Kyle will certainly take out his CH 16 anyway.
Kyle can't quite catch live #13 Fognini's 2315 points ( the title would take him to 2310 ). Fognini is in the other SF here vs Del Potro.
