Kyle has played Berrettini once before, in R2 of the Rome Challenger in 2015, when he won 3&3

The Italian has won all 3 of his matches here so far (against Zhang, Vesely & Mayer) by the same scoreline, 3 & 2

Shame, Lajovic got Pospsil in R1, decent draw. Oh well. You never know, a LL spot might open up.

A LL spot did open up but it went to Sandgren.

 That's a shame in itself....

Good lad is Tennys Sandgren. Shame on the trial by social media crowd. Probably find these braying idiots also being fashionable and hectoring the gentle John Isner.

Not at all. Shows how siloed the holier than thou brigade are that they consider any scrutiny of their questionable hardline stances to be trolling.

Its like an internet version of those animal testing protestors you get at pharma companies.

Kyle has taken the first set 7-5

Very close but the Italian deserved that second set - played a blinder of a tie-break and had the break points in the set too.

Into a third.....

I tend to agree, Jeff S Trolling.
I did not realise Tenys was an advocat of animal testing. But on that point I am probably with him if there is no alternative. I cannot take the bloke seriously, PJ Cola and Snickers always come to mind.

Kyle gets it 7-5 in the third. Winnable (though not bankable) match against Lajovic next

Good win from Kyle, big match next as 180 points would be a good counter for him.
