Second set went away from Katie and she lost it 2-6. She did save 4 set points but and would have been nice if she held to serve first in the decider but not to be. Thinkers a bit of both in terms of respective levels increasing and dipping.
Long way back now. 1-3*. Katie saved 3 consecutive BPs from 0-40, but at deuce put an easy volley long under minimal pressure and was then promptly broken.
Flipkens serving a lot better now so it will be tough to break 15-40*
Katie has a 25k F and SF to defend before the end of the year (48 points). She is playing WTA Tianjin quallies next week and then has a China 100k event the following week where she will probably be seeded. Not sure what her plans are after that, but there are other 60k events in China plus the 125k events that Naomi did pretty well in last year, so hopefully she can do enough to secure top 100 place by the end of November and thus more than likely direct entry into the Aussie Open.
