Yes, there are just 10 players for 8 qualifying slots so due to be a total of 2 qualifying matches played.

Horrible MD for Helena who gets the 2nd seed, Anna P's not great but could be worse, Pitak's after their successful doubles on the Black Sea, are not here.

R32: Anna POPESCU (GBR) [WC] UNR vs Katja MILAS (CRO) [7] 1033 (CH:782 Oct 11)
R32: Helena JANSEN FIGUERAS (GBR) [Q] UNR 18yrs (JCH:290 Jan 17) vs Chiraz BECHRI (TUN) [2] 765 (CH:571 April 16)

In the doubles, Anna is back with her partner of last week, Nadia ECHEVERRIA ALAM (VEN), and they are 2nd seeds this week, with a first round bye.

Helena is playing with Micheline AUBUCHON (USA).

Yes, Bechri is, as you do mention once, the seond seed.

Brits have been successfully attracting seeds in both qualifying and main draws at an above average rate in the last month, and this is another example of that.

I am sure you're right re the recent general seed attraction, ABB, it's been quite noticeable.

No doubt over the long term total matches vs seeds and indeed high seeds will be around the random expectation but that's no comfort for these getting awful draws lately.
