This was a very deep tournament with pre qualifying and qualifying so with a big advantage to coming in later its a little hard to gauge how the freshman in particular are bedding in.
I know Connor Thompson was mentioned earlier, it is also worthwhile noting in getting to a potential lucky losers spot in the main draw he won 6 matches and took out two nationally ranked players. South Carolina from watching Pauls progress promote early on merit, particularly if you are digging out wins, so optimistic (as playing in the SEC) he well get a high enough slot to play more ranked opponents as a freshman. That would in turn give him a chance of a decent national rank as a freshman.

A few results I spotted on a quick look through the regionals - results up to and including Friday. Not an exhaustive list, so please feel free to add anyone I've missed...... Some of the regions play next week. Non Brits in italics

Does anyone have an insight as to the standard of Regionals? Like Conferences are some Regions notably tougher than others? Believe some of the top players don't enter as they have already secured a place at the ITA fall championships........

In the Division 1 women, the singles look to be 128 draws, with Emily Arbuthnott and Sasha Hill reaching R16, in their respective regions. Angelica Blake and Olivia Peet came through 2 rounds apiece.
In the Northwest, Emily and Angelica played dubs together and in the quarters played Lillian Mould+, so 3 Brits on court together. Tight match with Emily/Angelica going through 8-6. Emily/Angelica then went on to make the final, which will be played tomorrow.
Vic Allen+ made the dubs semis in the Southeast.
3 of the 12 regionals yet to start. Most/all of the regions appear to each have 12+ college teams.
For the strong programmes in power conferences regionals are a step down, for the better teams in weak conferences a chance to test yourself against power conference teams. College tennis doesnt really kick off until the in conference stuff hence Paul taking Autumn off

In the ITA (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Carolina Regional, Megan Davies (a Junior i.e. in 3rd year, at South Carolina) made the semis, losing out to the No 1 seed, ITA ranked No 5, Kelly Chen. Good result for Megan, currently ranked 125.
