In the double, Freya and Jodie are playing together, and as noted by CD, Soumeya and Julia Kimmelmann have qualified. Certainly interesting that Soumeya is here!!! Julia lost in the singles FQR. The two have had some recent success in doubles... This also may be part of Soumeya ensuring she has a WTA doubles ranking for next year.

Well first round doubles results are in, and Jodie and Freya sadly lose on a TB, despite being the higher ranked pair. However a big big victory for Soumeya and Julia in their first match in Oz against a pair much higher ranked than themselves, and higher ranked than the Aus pair that Jodie and Freya lost to. smile
