Week 37 - WTA International ($250K) - Quebec, Canada - Indoor Carpet

Yah! Watson win 6-3 6-4 in not much more than an hour - nice early finish. Pretty comfortable really. Think that might have been the first time I've seen Marino and I wasn't particularly impressed. First WTA semi final since Hobart and a decent opportunity with Parmentier up next - certainly more winnable on paper than Mertens earlier in the year.

Good stuff.

Watson is now 10-2 since losing to Ann Li in Landisville last month. I didn't see that coming, but very welcome indeed.

YAY, excellent win for Heather biggrin
Great that she's well back in the top 100 again now and can hopefully continue the trend

GL in the SF smile

Great stuff Heather.

I don't rate Parmentier at all. No idea how she's achieved much of her success. Would be nice to see Hev in a WTA tour final again.

Kenin-Pegula underway now. On serve at 3-2 Pegula.

Not sure who i want to win that one. Normally I'd want Kenin, but I think Pegula would be a more winnable match should Heather reach the final, but then again I wouldn't really want a potential Pegula-Parmentier final.

Go Sofia I guess.

Kenin-Pegula gone to a decider. 6-4 2-6, so could be another hour before Watson gets on.

Down an early break - *2-4

Forgot about the French - Quebec connection - Watson is effectively playing a 3rd straight home favourite here.

Parmentier has spent an awful lot of time over the years in the top 100. Is it maybe that she plays to a consistent level so consistently gets at least decent results if not having a great top level?

I see that when it comes to Slams she has in total only 4 times reached the L32 stage and in only one of these the L16 ( RG 2014 ).

Maybe a good measure of where Heather's game is at at the moment.
