Mila is only just 14, too, 52 days past her birthday.

Avery rare sighting of the lesser spotted $15K+H.
The +H tiers throughout the ProCIrcuit have been a complete bust ever since they were introduced, they're essentially never used - less than a dozen +H's across all levels combined, per year.
The whole lot of them need to be scrapped, and the pyramid reworked so that there are levels with greater distinction between them, so that players will be encouraged to play up.
At the moment, points distributions are wasted on fitting in the all but redundant +H's into the hierarchy, ensuring the +H gets more than the usual equivalent, but less than the tier above it.
Rather than the current ten levels {$15K, $25K, $60K, $80K, $100K - each with a +H option} make it 6 with a $40K option to smooth the bump between $25K & $60K. $50K has been historically too much to raise for organisers, but $40K would offer a premium event at a better cost, and fill the rankings points gap. Adjust the $25K points accordingly, now that you've been given room to breathe, by not worrying about overlapping the $25K+H or $15K+H points.
That would have been more useful than the transition tour, and the fix to the unsmooth ranking points distributions still needs to be implemented.

I always assumed Mila had Russian/East European connections (mainly because of the name but she has played a lot of her junior events in Eastern Europe and had a picture of her meeting Zvonereva up not too long ago).

But she's also played in South America a fair bit so maybe connections both sides? Or just likes South America?

She used to be a very, very slightly built girl - plays a lot of tennis Europe.

Yes, I like this comment from her twitter account too: 'I am so happy I participated in the Russian, Grade 3, U16, National Tennis Tour tournament this week during my holidays in Novosibirsk!', as one does.

And for all those who feel they are missing out on the trend of holidaying in Novosibirsk, it is Russia's third largest city. Only thing is, it's in Siberia, about 1000 km north-east of Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, another great summer holidays location.

Qualifying was meant to have been completed on Sunday but the weather put paid to any play. Further rain and what looks to have been a marathon match before hers resulted in Mila only managing to get a couple of games in yesterday. She has a very early start today, resuming her FQR match at 8am local time with the score at 1-1.

Not an entirely unsurprising procession of the first set; Ms. Burek scored 12 points, but did have 2 BP in the final game, 0-6
