Shame it didn't go to the doubles just for the epicness of potentially playing to 2am. By the sounds Anne's interview JoKo and Katie B was definately a big option.
OMG - that was all so so stressful but what an atmosphere and well done Jo for pulling it out in the end (and Katie earlier). Nice words for Bondar and the Hungarian team at the end which was good to see.
Fantastic few days - good luck to the team for tomorrow. Lets hope GB can get the job done.
yes and the hungarian coach was classy at the end there and by my amature lip readin it looks like jo exchanged a few words in hungarian with him
I wonder how many non huge tennis fans have been tuning in to this? It's been a superb advert for the women's game, team tennis and tennis in general - full, enthusiastic crowds (even if the venue could have been bigger, in hindsight), good quality, battling performances and ultimately, GB success. Hopefully a lot of youngsters have been watching and get a real taste for it.
So far it has been a very impressive event, top quality tennis, spot on officiating in the matches I have watched, line calls contested but officials generally right and Clare Balding added a touch of class with her post match summing up, tributes and interviews. H
I've been to every session and much enjoyed the tennis. Great that pre-event publicity has been good and the crowds have been full. There should be more team tennis and the round robins are a great format. I went to Budapest and Tallinn and I do, however, have some moans about Bath in comparison. Almost impossible to find out what is happening. No programmes, no order of play sheets, no updating of scores on the other court, no live scores, no free admission (with Centre tickets) to Court One. Also this is an international event not a British one. 48 large Union flags on Centre Court is 47 too many especially as the other seven countries do not have a single one!

Sad to hear that unnecessary jingoism, it is really inappropriate and the organisers should have realised that, especially if other flags are not being shown too... And also if you are going to do the publicity, it seems strange you wouldn't provide appropriate information for those that do come to watch.

A little bit of a surprise Jorovic over Danilovic maybe? I suppose Olga will be more fresh for the doubles (although a risk if thy are not needed) and Jorovic has won both of her singles matches (as has Olga). A little bit more happier with that now. They are both similarly ranked, but Olga is younger and definitely has the bigger upside IMO.
Hopefully we can get this wrapped up before the doubles.
