As you say, Emily is still entered for next week, but I have just checked and she has withdrawn all her entries for week 37.

As have most of our girls - down to 17 entries out of an initial 78 - just a few of the low/unranked players left, and not a single main draw entry.

 One contributory cause for the lack of UK players competing internationally this week and next may be that the LTA Team finals are taking place this weekend at Bournemouth. Also most US uni players return this week.

It's still 50% less this year than last, and last week was the same. Next week in 2017, we had 6 entries which was the main season low. Week 37 in 2017, we had 18 - in a week with no GB events. We're not getting anywhere near that.
2018 YTD entries are down 10% on the same point in 2017, and the margin has been pretty much consistent all year long from the point after week 6 to now. It was -20% during the hard/clay transition, but reverted to -10% by the onset of grass.

I'm expecting the figures to decline at the same rate next year, probably more.

In a way, so long as it's obviously nothing serious or with long-term ramifications, I'm glad something has made Emily rest.
