Harry Wendelken comfortably qualified to join Anton Matusevich and Jacob Fearnley in the main draw of the main warm-up event for the US Open.  Jacob and Harry could earn themselves a Special Exempt with good performances here, but the field is strong. All three are due on court this afternoon

Tyler Zink (USA) v (Q) Harry Wendelken

Anton Matusevich v Arthur Cazaux (FRA)

(Q) Francesco Passarro (ITA) v Jacob Fearnley

Super win for Jacob against the JWR9 in the one singles match with British involvement scheduled today. Tajima was a quarter-finalist at the US Open last year and has won a smattering of Futures matches

(9) Drew Baird (USA) v Anton Matusevich
Jacob Fearnley d. (2) Naoki Tajima (JPN) 3-6 6-3 6-1

Brilliant win, Jacob !

Worth noting that the JWR 9 player he beat also has an ATP ranking of 1208 (CH 1183).

Excellent.

Turning into a great tournament for the boys, as all 3 upset seeds. The Italian who Harry plays next may be familiar, having lost to Jack Draper in the quarters at both Roehampton and Wimbledon

Anton Matusevich d. (9) Drew Baird (USA) 6-3 6-2

Jacob is the first to experience defeat. Anton is on court now , while Harry plays much later on - their opponents being the top two ranked 2002s

R3

(Q) Harry Wendelken v (5) Lorenzo Musetti (ITA)
Anton Matusevich v (8) Dalibor Svrcina (CZE)
Emilio Nava (USA) d. Jacob Fearnley 6-3 6-4

Two excellent results, including a clutch one from Harry.

With adult singles interest conspicuous by its absence, well done the kids !

R3

(Q) Harry Wendelken def. (5) Lorenzo Musetti (ITA) 6-1 5-7 7-6(5)

Anton Matusevich def. (8) Dalibor Svrcina (CZE) 6-3 6-3

Harry now gets the top seed, Gaston (FRA), who is one of the FFT's super-funded young 'stars', JWR 4 and ATP 1238.
Anton will play a Japanese player, Ichikawa, JWR 61, ATP 1456

Is Svrcina the guy who beat Jack out in the east twice in March?

Two great wins there

Yes - and the Australian Open to boot.   Sadly Harry retired from his quarter-final today. Hope he will be okay for US Open qualifying which starts tomorrow, or it will tarnish his best tournament so far in terms of quality of opposition

QF

(1) Hugo Gaston (FRA) d. (Q) Harry Wendelken 6-1 2-0 rtde

Taisei Ichikawa (JPN) v Anton Matusevich
