Disappointing loss. 2 double faults in later stages of tie break have thrown it away unfortunately, but a BIG call at 5-5. I've watched it five times and the net doesn't move at all, I'm sure he didn't touch it with his racket, whether his foot just nestled against it, its impossible to tell, but that's the set right there. And I'd have backed Dan E to win the third if he could have come through the second, but that's those fine margins.

He's still playing pretty well, but a missed opportunity for this week.

Someone wrote above that the court was fast and if Brands has a big game, then I guess a point or two here or there are always going to make a difference.

Still, a disappointing week all round for GB men and indeed women. We move on!

Evo/Granollers just made the final!

Magnificent meltdown by one of their opponents during the MTB - kicking a pillar repeatedly out of sheer frustration and earning himself a code violation (not to mention a sore foot I reckon) in the process...

Must be tough as third seed to lose to a partnership with an unranked player wink

Yep, Dan is top seed in qualies at 64,000 Cassis (FRA). Oh the world of pro tennis..

I'm not sure why Dan felt he had to throw the dubs though, he's got a bye into R2 as top seed, so doesn't play until tomorrow, but maybe he didn't know that.

granollers is in Saville doubles draw so clearly his illness was only short term

Good for him. Don't need to send him a card now.
