Great tweet, she is very funny for all the right reasons. A stand up comedian could not have written it! If BJK thinks she is too quiet to be a role model I think Naomi may just be whispering to avoid embarrassing the old girl.
And as my very last post on this subject, just to note that Annie K's comments are balanced as well, including her note of player support on social media for Naomi, and no-one being particular impressed by how Serena behaved.
"It is interesting on social media everyone has come out in support of Naomi Osaka and what a great achievement it is - [her] first Grand Slam title," she said.
"A lot of players are happy for her. Let's not forget the type of tennis she played that night. She played incredible tennis; regardless of how Serena behaved, maybe Naomi Osaka would have won that match anyway.
"There has been a lot of support there but it has been interesting on social media anyway that not many players have spoken in support of Serena. That for me has been really noticeable."

I also love the Australian post match interview link in the comments to the original twitter link.
Naomi's title winning experience was unforgiveably spoiled and the lack of apology from Serena and the US Open is awful.
But at least so much more attention on her is revealing a seemingly lovely girl with a great personality. You don't have to be loud to be a role model !
On the incompetence of the USTA, and the general double standards and discrimination, here's a report of what happened in the wheelchair final, which is pretty disgraceful:
So my understanding is that having read the piece earlier is that it has been removed from the website and no attempt made to redirect the client as opposed to it being a client side error.
Extrapolation of which suggests to me that after careful consideration of her careful considered piece Naomi who now has a profile as a well informed tennis pundit has carefully considered its impact and taken it down. Would that be a fair assessment or is there another explanation?
I thought it was a very good piece - basically saying (as I read it) that, in Naomi's view, there was no direct sexism in what happened to Serena but that there is sexism (often unconsciously/subconsciously) in a lot of what happens, in life as well as tennis, and that this is insidious/very subtle/difficult to put your finger on and therefore all the more dangerous and tricky to call but all the more important to try and tackle for that very reason. But, equally, it is just as important that people don't hijack the cause for cases where there actually isn't any, i.e. the Serena final.
Why would she take this down? Because of the last bit? i.e. not backing Serena? or because it didn't go far enough? Or is this too simplistic and I've missed something ?
That's a shame...even more of a shame that it would be unlikely anyone would have a copy of what she wrote.
It just so happens I anticipated such a hostile reaction, and do have a copy. However, if Naomi has removed it, I respect her choice, and so I don't want to re-post it all. I'll leave the first paragraphs in a spoiler, as 'fair use'.
Spoiler
It has taken me a while to get my thoughts on the debate down on paper, it is a such a complex issue that is important to dissect with careful consideration. I have done a fair few interviews in the aftermath which have been incredibly challenging. The time you are given is just not long enough to try and have this discussion, it is such a delicate issue and it takes someone really wanting to understand it for anything anyone says to make a difference. The debate has polarising opinions, but there is no clear answer or side to any of this, I will attempt to offer some clarity and unpick at least some of it!
Serena's behaviour after receiving her first code violation was out of order. Carlos Ramos followed the rules and did his job. Case closed? Yep pretty much... as far as this isolated incident is concerned, but it is important to look at why Serena called out sexism in the heat of the moment as well as after a cooling off period in her press conference.
In general I see umpires treating women differently to men...

Did you read the comments? If you're not used to that, I'd be terrified, too.

No, I hadn't read any of the direct comments for that article. Again, just to be clear, you mean pro-Serena comments? I've read others though and, yes, some tweeters etc. are truly deranged and scary.
