Andy seems to be getting over the line and also managed a 3 hour plus, 3 1/2 hour match. Kudos to him.
As for Kyle, my view is that points are points and over a year your ranking tells it like it is. But it is clear he will fall and longer term I think he will end up floating between 20-50 sometimes at the top end and sometimes at the bottom. And that is fine. Sort of sub rusedski but above jeremy Bates and Andrew castle as I think he'll survive long term at that level.
Thankfully the US Open is still being broadcast by Eurosport here in France. Saw most of the Kyle match , very bizarre . As soon as it went one set all it looked like one of those days , not just the physical problems but mentally theres something missing and just the lack of energy he brings to the court .
Andy could play on one leg and you still have to beat him. Very encouraging to see him back , he did very well after losing the first set which he should have won .
Its too early to expect much , he needs matches , Verdasco will be a very tough match .

L64: Andy Murray WR 382 vs (31) Fernando Verdasco (ESP) WR 32 (CH = 7 in April 2009)
Andy is 13-1 in that head to head but obviously a) h2h's don't mean that much coming back from injury (See Kygrios and Pouille) and b) I swear I still have nightmares about that match at Wimbledon 2013. Verdasco is can be on fire and he seems to be having somewhat of a renaissance recently. Of course, there's a reason why his nickname is "Fiasco" as well...
