Oops, just realised I'd read your post wrong - Jamie is watching Katie which makes sense given she's part of Andy's management company. For some reason I though he was watching Heather!!
(Guess Heather still doesn't have a coach then...)
Katie fought well in the second set but in the end Heather was just too good - been a while since I've said that!!!.. Now hoping for a decent MD draw and the top 100 beckons again. Good luck Hev. Katie to come back next year and qualify for the MD by right.
Heather played pretty well, some superb tennis at times from her, especially passing shots and forehand down the line on the run. I expected a lot more from Katie Swan; she landed a few good shots but so many wild errors. Her game looked very raw, poor choices never mind the execution, failing to attack when given the opportunity. Clearly needs time.
Across her 3 qualifying matches, Katie Swan's first serve percentage 50, 54, 53, winning 73%, 76%, 74%. 2nd serve 45%, 48%, 37%. Return 30/53, 44/50 and 17/28 against Heather. So first serve percentage a bit too low but decent when she does land it, against players ranked 101-200, I think a good server could be winning between 75% and low 80s at the US Open. Against top 100, anything above 70 is pretty good. 2nd serve clearly an issue, especially the error count in the rallies, though she did win 7 points through unreturned 2nd serves. Return of serve needs a lot of work. Didn't put anywhere near enough pressure on Heather's 2nd serve and often seemed late when attempting to get the Watson first serve back in court.

I thought I saw that (dipping in and out). I also thought that they don't have on-court coaching at the slams - or have I got that wrong?
Well it wasn't actually on court, he was at the side behind the barrier and she went up to him at the change of ends. I thought it wasn't allowed, but it must be in qualifying, or she wouldn't have got away with it.
