Yes, and proves he is back. Nadal and djoko win one hardcourt summer masters apiece and can't help but see them as joint favourites for new York.

Novak, Roger and Rafa again. The US Open winner will come from one of these 3 again. True legends, the Sport wont see their like again, certainly not in the next 10 years based on what is coming through. The social media generation of Zverev, Krygios etc dont have the hunger and desire to dominate the game. I actually fear for the Sport overall without leading players once these 3 quit. I also have a feeling Roger will bow out within next year, can see 2019 being his last, going out at the top. Rafa and Novak another 2 years maybe and they will do the same. Andy wont be back at this level and once he accepts that (I think he already has), he will gone in a year as well. Cant see Andy slogging away at 250s to get a top 20 ranking back.

I might be wrong but I think Andy will quit after 2020, try and play one more Olympics and perhaps play a Wimbledon doubles with Jamie that year. Just a hunch. Your other suggestions resonate, I agree. Maybe djokovic will push a little longer. Enjoy whilst we can!

Andy wont play doubles, cant see why. None of the great players do these days. Once he quits it will be to coach and for his other business interests. That said he would easily win Slams at doubles given the lack of world class players that compete regularly.

Andy coaching the likes of Nick Kyrgios I could see, although their friendship may inhibit that now. Andy is exactly the type of example Nick needs. Similarly Evo as well, Muzz could make him a top 10 player.

Under normal circumstances I would agree, but I think there could be a big attraction to playing doubles with Jamie if only for 1 year to see just how good they could be if they played together regularly rather than as a one off. If they did win a GS it would give Andy some small bragging rights over Fed, Novak and Rafa!!

I remember Andy once saying circa 2008-09 that winning a doubles grand-slam with his brother would mean more to him than winning a singles one. Now he may not quite feel the same way but if his hip limits his mobility for singles, he may feel doubles a better outlet for him than fully retiring

Exactly - even if not for a whole season, I reckon Andy and Jamie may play a couple of slams perhaps in 2019 or 2020 before both are too over the hill. Wimbledon and US Open perhaps in 2020 as well as tokyo olympics that season, would be my wager with no inside knowledge at all!
