On OER, they have Jack's points as 1, but 6 to be added on the 20th. So are the 'live' OER rankings only live for above futures level?
My general experience of live rankings is that the lower you go, the more unreliable they get. But I doubt they have had the time to update from Jack's win today anyway. I don't use that site so I don't know the reliability.

But this is accurate Helen
Agreed, but for me live rankings would show him as having 7 points in this case.
No, because next week he will have the 1 pt and gain a ranking, then the following week (ie 20 Aug) the 6 pts will go on and then he will have the 7 pts. And that's what they show - the 'live' 1 pt, and then the next 6 pts pending.

Will it be the case that if Paul Jubb continues to do extremely well, after this year he won't find it easy to test himself in more difficult tournaments as Cameron Norrie did and make a decision to drop out of university? How difficult will it be under the new system for university students, who are restricted to a small number of ITF tournaments, to gain enough points to play in the higher level tournaments?
Poor Paul has withdrawn from his semi.
No surprise at all if he's managed to injure himself or even just overtire himself.
Do hope he's ok.
Rest up a little, Paul!

I cant see it being a problem, the USTA see college tennis as a pathway to the pros and have invested significantly in it. As well as encouraging pros to live around and use the national centre in Orlando they also see it as a hub for developing the college game. Undoubtedly there will be opportunities for the top college players to test themselves against pros, indeed many colleges have futures tournaments in their schedule. Pauls do, indeed he played in one last year with his fellow game****s. The SEC conference in which Paul plays is arguably the strongest and this is reinforced by a tough outer conference schedule, playing number he will be playing the best college players week in week out. ie. 15-25 k level only realky if he can get in the top 1-5 nationally as Cam did could you argue he is running out of opposition.
Thanks, any recommendations for a reliable site Bob?
I actually like OER. It is often slower to update than live-tennis but when it does it has nothing like the mistakes live-tennis can at times have. It appears to very accurate.
As Michael said it is fine with Jack Draper. The live 1 point refers to the next rankings date ( 13/08 in this case ) as is normal for live ranking sites. It shows there the 6 points as pending and then does include these if you jump to the 20/08 forecast where he currently shows with 7 points.
I notice OER doesn't try and ranking split players on level points and that's fine by me. I just prefer the points to be right.

Paul will be be WR716 or thereabouts when this weeks points go on and only has 4 counters. If he continues to score at 15K this year he could overtake Ryan, Luke, Billy and Bryden and potentially JG and TF. Given his reitrierment today I'll give him till the end of the year. Only 18 but I don't know if college is an option.
edit - Due to temporary blindness I didn't spot the fact that he's already at a US college - so he'll only play until Sept-Oct.
